All About Kids
I cannot help but smile when I write our quarterly Make it Brighter blog post. The gratification that comes with helping others is so undeniably glorious! This spring we'll be donating a portion of all sales of the Cactus Flower tumbler to support the Portland Metro Salvation Army's All About Kids Program.
The Salvation Army seeks to light the way for kids in our community each day. Last year, The Salvation Army in the Portland Metro area provided services to over 75,000 people. This included serving over 232,817 meals and snacks to families, and equipping over 6,694 youth with character building programs. Our youth programs place special emphasis on activities that encourage the development of life skills. Through mentoring and education, kids are shown the possibility of a better life. Services include after-school tutoring, summer camp, music education, shelter, meals and snacks, sports activities, troops programs, holiday gift and school supply distributions, and more.
Isn't this exciting? We know the Salvation Army is a wonderful group of caring folks, and your contributions are going to be very much appreciated. And the Cactus Flower candle is a delight, too! It's got hints of dry dessert air with notes of green flora, touched off with a smidge of agave. It's got a 45 hour burn time and really brightens any room.
