HOPE Animal-Assisted Crisis Response
Sometimes, comfort comes on four paws. 🐾
This quarter, our Make It Brighter project is proud to shine a light on HOPE Animal-Assisted Crisis Response, an Oregon-based nonprofit dedicated to bringing comfort, compassion, and emotional support to individuals and communities experiencing trauma.
HOPE provides specially trained therapy dogs and their volunteer handlers to schools, communities, and organizations following traumatic events, including the loss of a student or teacher, school violence, natural disasters, and other crises.
Through the simple but powerful connection between humans and animals, these incredible canine teams offer a calming presence, a moment of peace, and a little light during some of life's darkest moments.
Founded in Oregon, HOPE has grown into an organization serving communities in need, providing its crisis response services at no cost.
At Bridge Nine Candle Co., we believe even the smallest gestures can make a meaningful difference. Through our Make It Brighter project, we're honored to support organizations like HOPE that remind us how powerful kindness, connection, and compassion can be.
Because sometimes, making the world a little brighter starts with a wagging tail. 🐾

Refill & Recycling Program
Refill Program
We are now accepting the return of limited edition and regularly stocked sized Bridge Nine vessels so that they can be refilled.
There are three different sizes you can refill:
Votive Refill: Any votive size candle that we have sold in the past - they are typically 4 oz. $10 per refill
General Refill: Anything from 8 oz - 16 oz are $20 per refill
Extra Large Refill - anything above 16 oz or that requires 4 wicks $42 per fill (this would typically be big ceramic bowls, 4 wick gold bowl from holiday)
To refill and reuse your favorite vessel, please read all of the directions below.
How it works:
- Once you've finished burning your candle, clean it out and get it ready to be refilled. An easy way to clean out the vessel is to use a spoon to scrape out the remaining wick and any excess wax. Pop it in the microwave (if it's not metal) to soften the remaining wax and then wipe out. Use warm soap and water to finish cleaning the vessel. DO NOT POUR WAX DOWN YOUR SINK. If the vessel is metal, you can use a double boiler system on your stove top to melt the remaining wax.
- Purchase your refills through this listing.
- Package your vessels up! Please try and package your vessels without plastic. If you must use bubble wrap, I will use the same bubble wrap to ship back your candle.
- Ship your vessels to: Bridge Nine Candle Co | 12780 SE Emiko Ct Happy Valley Oregon 97086. You are responsible for the cost of shipping your empty vessels to be refilled.
- If you're local to PDX you can drop off your vessels at K.Marie located at 10613 SE Main St, Milwaukie, OR 97222. If you are to drop them off, please make sure they are in a box or bag that is clearly labeled with your name.
- If you purchase $100+ of refills, or a combined order with regular product, the shipping on the return is free. Please keep in mind if you order regular product and refills, your order will be delayed until the refill vessels are received and completed to return.
- PLEASE NOTE: I MUST RECIEVE YOUR VESSELS FOR REFILL WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF YOU PLACING YOUR ORDER. If they are not received in that amount of time, I will refund you for the refills and ship the remaining items on your order and invoice for applicable shipping costs.
Special Considerations:
The following items are not permitted for refill:
-
Anything that is not originally sold by Bridge Nine Candle Co.
-
When returning your vessels they MUST be cleaned and ready to pour.
-
Vessels can only be refilled with scents available on the site at the time you are purchase a refill. For example, Pumpkin Spice will only be available for refill in the fall.
-
Please use masking tape to label what scent you'd like in which container.
-
Bridge Nine is not responsible if your vessel is broken in shipment.
Recycling
If you would like to return our regularly stocked sizes (round tumbler, small jar and farmhouse mason jar) with your refills, we will happily take them back to reuse them for future candles! Please clean out the vessels before returning them. Please do not try and remove the logo on the tumbler and small jar, it is printed on the glass. If you are returning the large or small jar, we can reuse the lids, so please include them!
With tariffs looming, costs will most definitely go up. That means the more we can recycle, the longer I can keep costs down! Normally, the return for each vessel is 50 rewards points, but for the time being I am upping the reward for each vessel to 75 points. You can return your vessels two ways;
- Ship your vessels to: Bridge Nine Candle Co | 12780 SE Emiko Ct Happy Valley Oregon 97086. You are responsible for the cost of shipping your empty vessels to be refilled.
- If you're local to PDX you can drop off your vessels at Union Rose or Milwaukie Floral. If you take them to Union Rose the address is: 8029 SE Stark St, Portland, OR 97215. They have two bins dedicated to Bridge Nine - one for drop offs and one for order pick up. If you take them to Milwaukie Floral the address is: 3306 SE Lake Rd Milwaukie, OR 97222. The drop off location is downstairs on the bottom shelf of our display. If you are to drop them off, please make sure they are in a box or bag that is clearly labeled with your name.
